23 Furman Band Members Named

Greenville – Twenty-three new students have been awarded positions in Furman university’s marching band, Director Robert B. Cantrick has announced.

The band, noted for its unique formation, performs for most of the university’s football games and will appear in Furman’s Homecoming Day parade Saturday, Oct. 21.

Selected for the band were William Chapman of Inman, Michael Brandi of Bloomfield, N. J., Bruce Ford, James Richey and Jane Williams, all of Easley, Wen Cheng-Nan of Malaya, Lee Brown of Aiken, George bailey of Greenville, Gus Moody of Allendale and Wayne Rutledge of Greenville.

Also, Worth Cottingham of Dillon, Robert Williamson of Decatur, Ga., Effie Worley of Greenville, Allen Putman of Greenville, Gilbert Libby of Greenville, Harvey Barron of Asheville, Paul Ross of Blaney, Paul Robinson of Greenville, Louis Jones of Ware Shoals, William Bud Miller of Greenville, Rebecca Dickens of Charlotte, N. C., and Robert Bryson of Piedmont.
