William Franklin Powers was born 1874 in Richland county, the sone of John Powers and Keziah Powers.
William Franklin Powers, 78 of Lexington Highway, died suddenly at his residence early Sunday morning, May 14, 1950.
Mr. Powers was a retired city employee. He had been a ·resident of the Lexington highway for the past five years.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Jordan; one granddaughter, Mrs. C. B. Kelly of West Columbia: two grandchildren, Kenneth Kelley and Heywarard Kelley: three sisters. Mrs. W. H. Dent of Miami, Fla., Mrs. J. H. Harley of Fayetteville, N. C., and Mrs. H. M. Jacobs of Blaney.
Funeral services were held at 4 o’clock this afternoon from the Dunbar Funeral home. Interment will be in the Crescent Hill Memorial park. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Brant, pastor of the Grace Chapel Interdenominational church at Dixiana.
Pallbearers were Howard Hite, R. B. Elliott, Harry Butler, Robert Lovett, J. A. Mason, and Wiliam Beard.
