BLANEY, May 6 – H. W. Rast, superintendent of the Blaney Schools, has announced that the Blaney schools will close for the year Tuesday evening, May 23.
The commencement sermon will be delivered at 8:30 Sunday night, May 21, in the high school auditorium by the Dr. Oscar W. Lever of Columbia college.
Class day exercises will be observed at 8:30 Tuesday morning, May 23. Promotion certificates will be presented Tuesday morning to those entering the high school.
Graduation exercises will be at 8:30 Tuesday night, May 23, and the address will be given by Gary Paschal, an attorney of Columbia.
Candidates for graduation are Madge Black, Viola Boykin, Leverda Brown, Edward Coker, J. R. Hornsby, Powell Kirkland, Betty Miles, Betty Moore, Ruth Moak, WIlma Motley, Margaret Peake and Helen Reynolds.
Madge Black will be salutatorian and Ruth Moak, valedictorian.
The trustees of Blaney schools are J. D. Watson, chairman; W. L. Miles, clerk, and D. G. McLeod.
