BLANEY, May 6 – H. W. Rast, superintendent of the Blaney Schools, has announced that the schools will close for the year May 23.
The commencement sermon will be delivered Sunday, May 21, at 8:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium by the Rev. Dr. Oscar W. Lever of Columbia college.
Class day exercises will be observed May 23 at 8:30 a.m. Promotion certificates will be presented Tuesday morning to those entering the high school.
Graduation exercises will be that night at 8:30 o’clock. The graduation address will be given by Gary Paschal, an attorney of Columbia.
Candidates for graduation include Madge Black, Viola Boykin, Leverda Brown, Edward Coker, J. R. Hornsby, Powell Kirkland, Betty Miles, Betty Moore, Ruth Moak, WIlma Motley, Margaret Peake and Helen Reynolds.
Madge Black will be salutatorian and Ruth Moak, valedictorian.
The trustees of Blaney schools are J. D. Watson, chairman; W. L. Miles, clerk, and D. G. McLeod.
