Ross-Price Wedding Plans

Miss Elaine Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellerbe Hasell Ross (Gertrude Evans Ross) of West Columbia will become the bride of Ralph Henry Price, son of Mrs. D. Henry Price, and the late Mr. Price of Leesville, in a ceremony taking place at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 9, in West Columbia Baptist Church. The Rev. H. D. Anderson, supply pastor, will officiate. Ralph Rozier, organist, Eddie Williams, vocalist, and Mrs. Winifred Dent Horton, violinist, are to furnish the wedding music.

Miss Ross, who is to be given in marriage by her father, Ellerbe Hasell Ross, will have for her matron of honor her sister-in-law, Mrs. Hassell G. Ross (Sarah Matthews) and her maid of honor, Miss Mildred Haigler of Charleston. The bridesmaid are Misses Vivian Cooley of Leesville, Grace Watson of Blaney, Alberta Williford of Rock Hill and Mrs. Caldwell Gaddy (Sarah Rogers) of Columbia and Billy Jewell Lindsey of Nashville, Tenn., will be the flower girls and Douglas Nye will be the ringbearer.

Mr. Price’s best man will be his brother, Seth L. Price of West Columbia. The usher-groomsmen are George F. Black of Tallahassee, Fla., James B. Hare of Saluda, Robert D. Butler of Greenville, Richland W. Ross, Arnold Belcher of Greer and Dr. Hasell G. Ross, brother of the bride-elect.

Immediately following the ceremony, the bride-elect’s parents will entertain at a reception at their home.

Miss Ross is being delightfully entertained with many pre-nuptial parties. Those who have been hostesses for her are Mrs. Seth L. Price, with a linen shower at her home in West Columbia; Miss Caroline Coleman, informal luncheon at Hotel Columbia; Mrs. Myrtle Cooley, an informal dinner party at her home in Leesville;Miss Georgia Milner, miscellaneous shower at her home on Wilmot avenue; Miss Miriam Holland, a miscellaneous shower for the bride-elect at her home on Barnwell street, and the Beginners Sunday school department entertained at the home of Mrs. H. T. Elliott on Main street.

This week Mrs. James B. Keel will entertain Monday evening with a part at her home in Guignard Estates. On Tuesday evening Miss Grace Watson is having a party at home in Blaney. Wednesday evening Mrs. Howard Young and Mary Lou Wicker are giving a party at 3129 Forest drive. The bridesmaids with a luncheon at her home on Friday. The rehearsal party on August 8 will be given by Dr. and Mrs. Hasell Ross at their home in Guidnard Estates. Mrs. Everett Nye wil be luncheon hostess Saturday, the day of the wedding, at her home.
