1947

Mrs. Ada Evans Rose, 64, died Saturday night, June 28, 1947, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. B. Brewer, 2201 Park Street in Columbia, Richland, South Carolina. She was the widow of John I Rose. She was the last surviving member of the immediate family. She spent her entire life at Blaney and was a woman of remarkable standing and character.

She was survived by five daughters, Mrs. Paulin Woody, Mrs. Stella Brewer, Mrs. Mary Searcy and Mrs. Nina Jordon, all of Columbia, and Mrs. Ollie Branham of Lugoff; three sons, Lindsay Rose and Leo Rose of Blaney and Hobson Rose of Glasgrow, Va.; 13 grandchildren and on great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 o’clock on June 30, 1947 from the Blaney Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Maze Jackson, assisted by the Rev. George Walker and the Rev. Howard Price. Interment will follow in the churchyard.

Active Pallbearers will be Wade Evans, Jesse D Sutton, Charles Maddox, Elmer Wilson, Raymond Paschal and Leonard Paschal.

Honory Pallbearers will be Dr. W. D. Grigsby, Dr. James Watson, Jack Bailey, J. T. Ross, Talmage Bowen, John Abbott, Anderson Goff, Walter Butler, Ernest Krikland, J. D. Watson, Maxie Butler, Morgan Kelly, N. Grigsby, Leslie Moak, Glenn Dowery and Carroll Bowen.

Active and honorary pallbearers were request toe me at the church at 10:55 on June 30. 1947.
