Mrs. J. Paul Ross of Blaney entertained at a lovely buffet-supper at Laurel Hill Saturday evening, honoring the Anderson College Glee club, which was in Columbia to sing with the Southern Symphony orchestra. The spacious rooms were beautifully decorated in green and yellow. A crystal bowl of yellow snapdragons and fern flanked by crystal candelabra with green candles Centered the appointed table, from which a delicious salad course with lime punch was served followed by block ice cream and fruit cake. The girls enjoyed a stroll though the lovely grounds at Laurel Hill. Miss Cuyler and Miss Burell, members of the Anderson college faculty, who accompanied the Glee club to Columbia were presented with lovely corsages by Mrs. Ross. Mrs. J. H. Witherspoon assisted the hostess.
Mrs. Ross’ daughter, Syderas, is a member of the Anderson College Glee Club and sextet; also a piano and voice student and a poplar member of the senior class of the preparatory department of Anderson college.
