CAMDEN, April 8 — Andrea Brown, a Future Farmer of America youngster from Blaney took the $100 award in the first annual fat stock show, sponsored by the Camden and Kershaw county chamber of commerce in cooperation with the extension service and vocational agricultural teachers, held at the Kershaw county fair grounds here April 3.
Kenneth Moore, also of the Future Farmers of America group at Blaney, was runner-up to Brown and carried away a prize of $85.
Third in the scoring was Stephen Team, Jr., a 4-H club member from Lugoff while Lemuel Wooten of Blaney, a 4-H club member took forth award. Team’s award was $75 and Wooten $50. Norman Shealy of Camden, a 4-H clubber from Lugoff and Franklin Kirkland, also 4-H club member from the same place received $15 and $10 respectively for taking sixth and seventh place honors.
In the showmanship contest Edward Jones, 4-H club member from Lugoff won the first, or $25 award; Norman Shealy of Camden was second with $10 and Franklin Kirkland of Lugoff was third with $5.
The FFA boys participating in the show were Jasper Moak. Olin Goff, Powell Kirkland. Andrea Brown, Kenneth Moore and Claude Campbell.
The 4-H club boys were; Edward Jones. Marion Jones, H. L. Dinkins, Jr. John Pearce, Cleatus Godwin, John Elliott, Norman Shealy, Stephen Team, Jimmy McGuirt, A. D. Goff, Wilson Holley, Coronda Ogburn. Franklin Kirkland, Charles Young, Lemuel Wooten and Paschal Horton.
