Haynes – Elkins Wedding Held

Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Haynes of Blaney announce the marriage of their only daughter, Mary Elizabeth Haynes, to Lonnie LeRoy Elkins on April 19. The double ring ceremony took place at 5:30 p. m. at the home of the officiating minister, the Rev. M. V. Horne, pastor of the bride and bridegroom.

The bride wore a dress of powder-blue with white accessories, and a shoulder corsage of white rosebuds. Her only ornament was the necklace worn by her mother when she was married.

Mrs. Elkins received her education in the city schools of Gaffney. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Erwin company in Gaffney before coming to Blaney and Columbia. She now has a position with the Superior Laundry in this city.

Mr. Elkins is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Elkins of Blaney. He is a graduate of Dentsville high school, and recently received his discharge from the United States navy after serving five years in the European and South Pacific theaters.

After their brief wedding trip the couple will make their home near Pine Heaven Farms, Columbia, Route 3.
