LeRoy Sanders, 16,  died on Friday night March 15, 1946 in Kershaw County, South Carolina.

According to his death certificate, he was 16 years, 2 months and 21 days old at the time of his death. The cause of death was listed as a self inflicted gunshot wound and was ruled a suicide.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 1946 at Spears Creek Baptist Church, Pontiac. The rites will be conducted by the Rev. G. R. Partridge. Interment will be in the churchyard.

Pallbearers will be T. E. Campbell, Elmer Moak, Lexie Moak, Leslie Moak, Edmund Hornsby and Mendal Goss.
