1910 Census Information:
According to the United States Census recorded on April 26, 1910, Daniel Sutton (40) was listed as renting a home in Columbia, Richland county, South Carolina, he shared the home was his wife, Eula Sutton (36), of 18 years. She reported that she was the mother of 6 children, but only 3 were still living. Also in the home where their children; Jessie Sutton (17), Ola Sutton (15), and Alonzo Sutton (14). It was reported the family members were all born in South Carolina. Daniel Sutton was a salesman for a furniture store.
1914
On October 7, 1914, she was listed as the widow in the obituary of Daniel G. Sutton.
1945
Mrs. Jesse S. Sutton, 71, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. I. Maddox, of Camden, on Saturday, April 28, 1945.
Mrs. Sutton was survived by two sons, Jessie S. Sutton and Alonzo Sutton of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. B. I. Maddox, Camden; one brother, W. B. Evans of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. John I. Rose of Blaney and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from Harmony Baptist Church near Blaney at five o’clock Monday afternoon, April 30, 1945. Services were conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Kennedy and the Rev. Mr. Willis of Columbia, Interment was in the church yard.
