Mrs. E. D. Hornsby

MRS. E. D. HORNSBY, who celebrated her sixty-fifth birthday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Cook, 813 Huntington avenue, October 29.

The house and dining room table were attractively decorated with beautiful fall flowers. The table was especially lovely with the large birthday cake, on which were 65 candles. The following guest enjoyed the dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Hornsby: Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Cook and young daughter, Barbara Cook; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cook (Daisy Irene Hornsby Cook) and Mrs. C. Scott and young daughter, Ellen Scott. After dinner, many beautiful and useful gifts were given the couple.

Mr. and Mrs. Hornsby are beloved citizens of Blaney, where they have made their home all their lives. They have ten children, 40 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. They have two sons in the service of their country, Pvt. Herbert Hornsby now serving in China, and Pfc. Eddie Hornsby, now serving in Italy. They also have five grandsons in the service. They are Pvt. Cleveland Goff, Pvt. Tally Goff, MM1-2, C. T. Cook, SK 1-c, B. A. Cook and Pvt. Holly Goff.

After a lovely day, Mr. and Mrs. Hornsby were accompanied home by Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cook.
