Miss Gladys Harley, West Columbia, was issued her certificate in filing last week.

Miss Thalia McHargue recently completed the course in banking and commercial machine posting and is eligible for her certificate which will be issued to her this week.

Miss Earthel Estelle Poole of Salley has accepted a position with a real estate company in the city.

Miss Jewell Hydrick, a former student, has accepted an appointment with the United States civil service commission (senior rating) in Washington, D. C., and entered upon her duties in the war department yesterday.

Mrs. Jessie Hite McGuinn of Columbia has accepted a position in the office of the Anti-Tuberculosis association of Richland county.

Miss Annie Mae Carter of Beaufort was out during the week doing temporary work with one of the furniture companies in the city. Misses Annie Pearl Meetze, Rachel Gennerly and Agness Still were called Thursday for special work with the same company.

Miss Louise Ruff of Monticello has accepted a position with the local office of one of the national packing houses.

Miss Thelma Jacobs of Blaney, former student, has accepted an appointment with the United States civil service commission, with headquarters at Fort Jackson.

Mrs. Vera Sarvis of Tabor City, 1941 graduate, has accepted the position of executive secretary in the headquarters office of the Opa in that city.

Mrs. Herman McCurry of Lake City, formerly Miss Dolly Stokes of Camdenand a graduate of tis institution, was a welcome visitor to the college Saturday morning, when she visited her sister, Miss Thelma Stokes, office secretary at Draughon’s.

Miss Myrtle Harper, now with the United States civil service commission, stationed at Fort Jackson, was a welcome visitor at the college Friday afternoon.

Miss Margaret Wichman of Walterboro, a graduate of this institution, now holds a responsible position with a prominent firm in Hartsville. Upon the completion of her course at Draughon’s. Miss Wichman accepted a position as head of the commercial department in Cope high school, Cope.

Miss Anna Dreher is spending the week-end with Miss Helen Crosby of Guidnard Estates.

Miss Edith Fulmer will spend Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry P. Fulmer of Little Mountain.

Miss Sara Belle Gore will spend the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Gore at Loris.

Mrs. Zelda Station is spending the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Newsem of Hartsville.

Miss Eleanor Cone is spending the week-end with her parents at Sycamore.

Miss Binkie King is spending the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. King, Jr., of Sumter.

Miss Lila Mae Hogg is spending the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Hogg of Ulmers.

Miss Norma Morris has gone to Walterboro, to attend the wedding of her cousin.
