Mrs. Jessie Lula Huckabee, 51, of Cayce, died suddenly at 8:30 p. m. yesterday, as she was being carried to the hospital after suffering a heart attack in the Strand theater.
Mrs. Huckabee lived with her daughter, Mrs. H. W. Kinard, in Cayce, and had formerly lived at Blaney. She was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church, near Blaney.
Surviving are her husband, A. T. Huckabee of Blaney; two daughters, Mrs. Kinard and Mrs. Rex Lindsey of Cayce; four sisters, Mrs. Ben Aaron and Mrs. Madelie Kirkland, Columbia, Mrs. A. L. Kirkland of Cayce, and Mrs. Walter Gullie, of Raleigh, N. C.; three brothers, J. L. Kirkland of Blaney, Edwin Kirkland of Cayce, and Joe Kirkland of Columbia; her step mother, Mrs. J. L. Kirkland, Sr. of Columbia, and also one grandchild.
The funeral will take place at 4 p.m. in the family burial ground near Blaney, conducted by the Rev. Frank C. DuBose, Jr., pastor of Cayce Methodist church. The funeral procession will leave from Thompson funeral home at 3 o’clock.
Active pallbearers will be W. L. Spigner, W. H. Carter, W. H. Weathersbee, J. B. Batchler, H. S. Ray and W. S. Rikard.
Honorary pallbearers will be C. A. Byrd, A. E. Kirkland, Ira Goff, J. S. Ross, Walter Rose and B. K. Rose.
