Winners in the Distrist Three, Future Farmers of America judging contest, held yesterday at the state hospital farm were:
First place, Jefferson, scoring 6,231 points out of a possible 7,600; team members were Bob Johnson, Harold Seegars, George Simpson; coached by N. R. Salley, agricultural teacher at Jefferson.
Second place, Blaney team members, Kenneth McLeod, Paul Sloan, and Kershaw Rose: coach C. E. Young, teacher at Blaney.
Third place, Angelus; team members, Walker Jordan, Small Middleton and Ramsey Raley; coach N. R. Salley, teacher at Angelus.
The Jefferson team was awarded an FFA Loving cup. These three teams in the state contest at Clemson college, May 2.
Fourth and fifth places went to Camden and Columbia. Highest individual scorer was Julian Mathias of Columbia, FFF chapter, his points being 2, 178 out of a possible 2,600. He was awarded a medal.
Second high individual winner was Ramsey Raley of Angelus.
The contest was in charge of the agricultural teachers in this district, assisted by Mr. Wingard and Mrs. McClure of the state hospital farm.
