Thirteen seniors of the school of nursing of South Carolina State hospital will be graduated at 8 o’clock tonight in the hospital auditorium.
The address to the class will be by the Rev. J. O. Smith, pastor of Washington Street Methodist church.
The nurses will be led in the Florence Nightingale pledge by Miss Beulah Gardener, superintendent of nurses, and diplomas will be given by Christie Benet, chairman of the board of regents.
There will be musical offerings by Adrian Hallman and by the hospital orchestra, under direction of Ben Gardner.
Dr. C. F. Williams, hospital superintendent, will preside. Prayer will be offered by the Rev. J. O. Kempson, hospital chaplain. A recreation will follow the exercises of the Mills building.
Last night the nurses received certificates from Roper hospital at Charleston for completion of one year’s affiliation course there. This follow two years at the State hospital school of nursing.
