It was reported the family members were all born in South Carolina, except Earl who was born in Virginia.

Earl Pearce was a farm laborer,  Ida Gibb Pearce kept house, Mabel Pearce and Willie Gibbs Gibbsattend schools, and Earlene Pearce was too young to attend school.
