Morgan Conducts State Park Services Thrusday

State Park, April 7, – The Rev. A. Rufus Morgan, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal church of Columbia, conducted religious services held in the chapel at the South Carolina Sanatorium Thursday evening, March 28. Miss Margaret Marshall of Columbia accompanied the Rev. Mr. Morgan.

Mrs. William H Moncrief left Tuesday for New York City where she will visit for the next ten days.

Mrs. S. Eugene Miller and children, Betty and Eugene, have returned from Martin’s Point were they were guest of relatives.

Miss Sadie Battle, junior at Winthrop college, Rock Hill, returned Wednesday after spending the spring holidays with her parents, Dr. George C Battle and Mrs. Battle.

Miss Lula Underwood enjoyed many visitors this past week, among whom were Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Byrd and Miss Virginia Byrd of Rock Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Lyes Smith and J. R. Hendrick of Spartanburg, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Underwood, MRs. M. P. Miller and Mrs. Irby Lee Longshore of Newberry, Cleve Anderson and Mrs. Iran Gunnells of Greenwood, Mrs. Jack Hulse of Oceanport, N. J., and Otho Williams of Blaney.

Mrs. Lucile Jenkins and Mrs. Kathleen Davis of Greenwood were recent guest of Miss Norine Irvin.

Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Hodge of Sumter and Alva Cohia of West Columbia visited Miss Susie Hodge the week.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Huey and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Crosland of Columbia were Sunday visitors at the sanatorium.

Mrs. Dan C Breeden of Bennettsville spent Sunday with her husband, Mr. Breeden.

Visiting Mrs. Frank Hunter were her husband, Mr. Hunter, Also Mr. and Mrs. Marion Blanks, Newton Blanks and Roland McDowell, all of Lancaster.

Miss Sara DuVall had as company Mrs. M. O. Black and Miss Juanita Black of Greenwood.

Mrs. Floyd M. Campbell of Blacksburg, C. L. Campbell of Spartanburg and J. H. Campbell of Gaffney were Saturday guest of Floyd Campbell.

Mrs. E. F. Davis and family of Norway spent Sunday with E. F. Davis.

Curtis Hamilton and Mrs. Mannie Roller of Whitmire visited Mrs. Curtis Hamilton recently.

Wednesday visitors of Miss Marie McCartha were her father, W. F. McCartha, her sister, Miss Lorraine McCartha, and Frank Whites of White Rock.

Mrs. Hugh G. McColl of McColl is spending several days with her husband, Mr. McCull.

Mrs. W. R. Moffitt of Leslie spent Sunday with Chick Moffitt.
