Connie Sowell, 12, twin daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. (Jake) Sowell, died at the home of her parents, Sunny Hill Plantation. Cantey Hill community Tuesday Night, January 2, 1940 at 11:30 o’clock following an illness of long duration.

Funeral services will be held at the Hanging Rock Methodist Episcopal church, at 11 o’clock, Thursday Morning, January 4, 1940, with interment in the adjoining graveyard with the Rev. Mr. Murphy officiating. Surviving are her mother and father, a brother, J. W. Sowell, Jr., a twin sister, Johnnie Sowell, all of Sunny Hill Plantation, also the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J H Sowell of Kershaw and the Maternal grandmother, Mrs. W. P. Johnson, Greenwood.
