Many Attend Baptist Union Meeting Here

One of the best Quarterly meetings ever held by Fairfield Baptist Association training union workers was conducted last night at Crescent Hill Baptist church, Two Notch road.

Delegates were present from a large number of the association’s 43 churches and also seven church pastors.

W. B. Jones, Associational director, was in charge of the meeting which was opened by singing and prayer by the Rev. J. H. Reed of Cayce.

Separate conference were held by the various leaders of the union, in charge of the following; Presidents, Johnnie Kirby of Park Street Baptist church; junior leaders, Mrs. J. F. Nolan of Shandon Baptist church; vice presidents, Clay Williamson of Park Street church; intermediates, Miss Katryn Sherer of Eau Claire church; Bible readers leaders, Miss Jewel Eddings of Park Street church; pastors, secretaries, directors and choristers, the Rev. L. G. Payne of Eau Claire, who is also pastor-adviser to the training union work.

The pastors present included the Rev. Harry E. Alban of Crescent Hill church, the Rev. B. F. Carson of Blaney, the Rev. H W. King of Good Hope, the Rev. J. H. Reed of Cayce, the Rev. A. L. Sanders of Colonial Heights, the Rev. L. G. Payne of Eau Claire and the Rev. Leslie Edwards of Sandy Level.

Churches represented having new training unions included Good Hope, Harmony, Sandy Level and Spear’s Creek.

Lester Doub is training union director at Crescent Hill.
