W. F. Ross, 42, Blaney Man, Dies

William Fletcher Ross, 42, of Blaney, died at his residence, at 9 o’clock Monday night after a short illness.

He was born near Blaney and had made his home in that community all his life. He was a farmer and operated a store in Blaney.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Mattie Rose, and one adopted daughter, Miss Evelyn Motley; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Ross (Carrie Lee Goff Ross); and three sisters, Mrs. Glenn Motley and Mrs. D. C. Dixon, both of Blaney, and Mrs. G. G. Knapp of Swoope, Va.; four brothers, J. Paul Ross, J. Jack Ross, and M. W. Ross, all of Blaney, and Dr. S. H. Ross of Seneca.

Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist church at 11 o’clock Wednesday morning. Conducted by his pastor, the Rev. L. B. Jeffcoat, the Rev. W. S. Cromer of Ninety-Six, and the Rev. B. F. Carson. Interment will be in the churchyard.

Pallbearers, active, L. P. Rose, B. K. Rose, J. D. Watson, Otis Goff, Marshall Jeffords and E. T. Bowen. Honorary, Dr. W. D. Grisby, A. K. Rose, J. D. Bailey, W. W. Price, Jesse T. Ross, L. B. Nelson, T. B. Campbell and John P. Goff.

W. F. Ross, 42, Dies at Blaney

W. F. Ross, 42 of Blaney died at his home there at 10 o’clock last night after an illness of three days.

Mr. Ross, a well known farmer and merchant in his community, was born and reared there. He was a member of Union Baptist church.

He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Mattie Rose of Balney, and one daughter, Miss Evelyn Ross; his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Ross (Carrie Lee Goff Ross); four brothers, Paul Ross, John Gary Ross, M. W. Ross, S. H. Ross, Jr., of Seneca; three sisters, Mrs. D. C. Dixon, Mrs. J. G. Motley and Mrs. G. G. Knapp of Swoope, Va.

Funeral arrangements had not been complete last night.

ROSS – The relatives and friends of MR. and Mrs. WILLIAM FLETCHER ROSS and family are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, MR. WILLIAM FLETCHER ROSS, THIS (Wednesday) MORNING, at 11 o’clock at Union Baptist Church, Near Blaney. Interment in the Churchyard.

Ross Funeral This Morning

Funeral services for William Fletcher Ross, 42, of Blaney, who died at his residence at 9 o’clock Monday night after a short illness, will be conducted at 11 o’clock this morning from Union Baptist church by his pastor, the Rev. L. B. Jeffcoat, assisted by the Rev. B. F. Carson of Blaney. Interment will be in the churchyard.
