Misses Pauline and Edna Mittie spent last week in Greenville visiting relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Stapleton and family are leaving this week for Charlotte, N. C., where they will make their home in the future.

Mrs. D. D. Spencer and daughter, Frances Elizabeth Spencer, and their guest, Miss Martha Ann Waite, left Saturday for a visit of several weeks to friends and relatives in Birmingham, Ala.

Miss Inez McManus is visiting her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Pauling and family in Orangeburg.

Mrs. B. M. Orr had as her guest recently her sister, Mrs. N. H. Brakefield of Annapolis, Md. Sarah Orr accompanied Mrs. Brakefield home for an extended visit during the summer.

Miss Virginia Martin is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Williamson at Pomaria.

Hazel McGuire and Ruby McGuire are visiting relatives in North Carolina.

Mrs. R. A. Lait and children have returned to their home on Lincoln street after spending some time with Mrs. Lail’s parents in Pomaria.

Mrs. Quinn has returned home after a visit to the New York World’s Fair.

Mrs. B. W. Heise on Lincoln street had as her guest last weekend Mr. and Mrs. Charles Borroughs of Conway.

Little Pete Stockman of West Columbia is spending some time with his grandmother, Mrs. B. F. Stockman in North Columbia.

Mrs. Lewis Addy of Greensboro, N. C., who has been visiting relatives in North Columbia for some time has returned home.

Mrs. E. E. Nason has returned to her home at 3117 Gadsden Street from the Providence hospital where she has been a patient for some time and is reported to be improving nicely.

Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Epting visited relatives and friends in Blaney recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers are spending their summer vacation at Florida Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Johnson had as their guest last week H. L. Meetze of Chapin.

Eubert Johnson, Elfielda Johnson and Allen Johnson spent last week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Meetze at Irmo.

Mr. and Mrs. J. A Taylor and sons, J. E. Taylor and Roy Taylor, are spending their vacation in Richmond, Va., and Washington, D. C., and will make their return trip through the Shenandoah valley.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Y. Johnson spent last week-end at Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

The Rev. R. W. Wilkes of Union recently visited friends in North Columbia.

Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Blair and daughter, Mary, and Mrs. L. B. Blair visited Mrs. Dan Agnew and family in Winnsboro last week-end.

Miss Juanita Starr is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. M. S. Lingle, at Lenoir, N. C.

Mrs. Lee Rawls has returned to her home on Columbia avenue after spending some time with relatives in Blythewood.

J. E. Hipps, Jr., is attending the Luther league convention in California.

Mrs. Lloyd Williams and Children are visiting Mrs. Williams’ mother in Greenville.

Mr. and Mrs. Rubin Smith have returned from a pleasant trip to Myrtle Beach and the Smokey mountains.

Mrs. Brazel has returned to her home on Tenth street after visiting her sister.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Coggins of 3303 River Drive have moved to Atlanta, Ga, where they will make their future home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell visited relatives in Sumter last week.

Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Saunders and daughter, Susan Saunders, visited at Edisto Island last week.

E. J. Orr, Jr., is improving at the Columbia hospital where he has been quite ill.

Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Amick and son, Bill Amick, Mr. and Mrs. M C. Courtney and Niece, Mary Hall, left Sunday for a motor trip through the Shenandoah valley, and on to Washington, D. C., where they will visited places of interest. They will be away for several days.

Miss Julia Mae Ballentine has returned home after spending her two weeks vacation at Myrtle Beach.

Mrs. L. M. Fellers who has been visiting in Columbia for several weeks and Mrs. Lillian Sligh, motored to Newberry and Chester last week to visit relatives in both places before Mrs. Fellers left for her return trip home.

Miss Addie Bell Lancaster has returned home after spending a week with her sister, Mrs. R. G. Yon in Orangeburg.

Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Richardson have returned to their home in Portsmouth, Va., after spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Fulmer in North Columbia.

Little Frances Connelly has returned to her home in Blenheim after spending six weeks with her grandmother, Mrs. G. W. Smith and her aunt, Mrs. M. C. Courtney.

Mrs. H. L. Haltiwanger and Children visited Mr. and Mrs. Adam Haltiwanger in Chapin last week.

Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Hamiter and family visited relatives in Spartanburg last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Shealy and family of North Columbia, are spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Borroughs at Conway.

Cleveland Dozier of Marion, is visiting Reid Atkinson, Jr., in North Columbia.

Miss Cecil Steele, Miss Sadie Shealy, Fred Seasse, the Rev. Robert Kempson and Dick Webber, left Columbia Monday to attend the Luther league convention in California.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Haltiwanger and children recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Adam Haltiwanger in Chapin.

Miss Lettie McCartha and Robert Dugan are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rogers at Dalton, Ga.

Miss Leila Price of Bennettsville spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Love and family in North Columbia.

Little Frank Unger Lorick celebrated his fourth birthday last week with a lovely party given by his mother, Mrs. J. W. Lorick in North Columbia.

Mr. and Mrs. Hazel Shealy have moved from 2805 Columbia avenue to their new home at 1011 Cedar street.

H. L. Nye of 1033 Price avenue is quite ill.

Mrs. C. P. Robinson is quite ill at the Providence hospital.

John O. Edwards and daughter, Gloria, of Monck’s Corner visited their sister-in-law and aunt, Mrs. Willie Jolly at the Providence hospital last Thursday. Mrs. Jolly also had as her out-of-town visitors last Friday her sister, Mrs. O. V. Dudley, and her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Jones of Oakley Deport, Mrs. Jolly has been quite ill at the hospital for past three weeks.
