Dentsville to Meet ‘B’ Squad

Dentsville high school with the first football team in its history will open its schedule against the Columbia high B squad the latter part of this month.

Games have also been tentatively scheduled with Consolidated and Blaney highs, Walter Jenkins, coach, said yesterday.

The squad started practicing Thursday and there were 26 aspirants answering the opening bell. Although willing the boys are green and Coach Jenkins is pessimistic about his prospect for victories.

The funds for equipping the squad are being secured through the efforts of Principal G. Breck Templeton and Louis Conder, board member.

Some of the promising members of the squad are R. V. Seegars, 145 back; Ed Hinson, 256 pound center; Hazel Porter 165 pound back; G. Wallace, 155 pound back; J. A. Grimsley, back; Tractor Lee, lineman; Lester Martin, linemanl; Jimmie Helms, lineman; Louise Conder, lineman; Henry Riley, lineman; Marion Johnson, lineman; Wade Dent, lineman; John Jones, lineman, and Jack Smith, lineman.
