Sunday evening, June 5, Mrs. J S Ellis and Mrs. Ella Sanders entertained at a delightful surprise birthday dinner at the home A. K. Bowen at Lugoff in honor of J. S. Ellis. The tables were beautifully decorated with Gladiolas and Indian creepers. The latter part of the afternoon, a delicious salad course and lemonade were served by Lizzie Mitchell and Lizzie Robbins, who were dressed in Dutch costumes. Blue Larkspur, Gladiola and other garden flowers adorned the living room, where the guest enjoy groups singing, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. H. F. Lynch.
