Governor and Mayor to Participate in Ceremonies of Game Against Bishopville – Setzler Compiles Roster of Local Squad With Required Statistics.
Columbia Legion Juniors, who will open their official campaign against Bishopville at University field Monday afternoon, will close their preseason practice at 4:30 this afternoon in a game with the Blaney CCC camp on the same grounds, Coach Deke Koosa announced yesterday.
A big parade on Main street will precede the opening ceremonies Monday. It will include the Legion Drum and Bugle corps, members of Richland post and players.
Governor Olin D. Johnston will deliver the first pitch of formal opening ceremonies and Mayor L. B. Owens will receive it.
