Blaney Comes Here To Play Two Contests

Craig Has Assembled Fast Team of Boys; Games Start at 7:30

Basketball will make its initial 1935-36 appearance here Friday night when the Brookland-Cayce boys and girls entertain Blaney high school on the B-C court.

The first game of the double-header will begin at 7:30, with the B-C lassies, coached by Miss Inez Carlton, clash with the Blaney sextet, directed by Willie Cromer. The boys games will follow the girls’ contest.

Despite the fact that Coach Tom Craig has had his cohorts working out for only four days, having started practice Monday, he has shaped a quintet which he believes will be fast and speedy this year.

Woody Lucas and Murray Bundrick, will start at the forward positions, with James Derrick and Bill Robinson bandling the guard post. W. J. Sox will fill the pivot position.

With the exception of Bundrick, this is an entirely new team from the outfit which carried the school colors to the semi-finals in the Class B. championship race last year.

Miss Carlton has many new faces on the girls’ team this year and will likely use the entire squad in the contest Friday night.
