Eleven Request Liquor Licenses

Tax Commission Fails to Issue Additional Permits During Day.

Although applications for liquor dealers’ licenses continue to be filed yesterday the total for the day reaching a 11, the tax commission did not authorize the opening of any additional stores during the day in that two of its members were out of the city attending to other business matters in connection with their work.

The number of applications is mounting daily but during the past several days the number has increased slower than usual. The commission through Saturday has issued hundred and 48 licenses.

The applications received yesterday were as follows:

Cecil J. Thorne, Main street and highway No. 28, Ellenton; Nathan Robert Fleishman, 113 West Benson street, Anderson; Hattie Rebecca Green, No. 2 America street, Charleston; Ben Feldman, Main Street, Summerton; Clyde Tart, Railroad avenue, Holly Hill; J. D. Poland, proprietor, Columbia and J. C. Wright, manager, Camden, store to be located on East DeKalb street, Camden; Jepthah Ozbie Boeln, 40 Fenwick street, store to be located at 112 West Russell street, Orangeburg; Edgar L. Matthews, Warrenville, store to be located at 809 Union street, Aiken; W. D. Sanders and Vernon Brazell, Blaney.
