Saluda, June 9. – Mrs. S. H. E. Addy entertained Tuesday afternoon in honor of Miss Floride Crouch and Miss Genevieve Grigsby. Four contest were held. Mrs. P. B. Waters of Blaney won prizes in three, while Miss Mable Coucil won in the fourth.
The Saluda unit of the American Legion auxiliary net in the home of Ms. G W Smith Tuesday morning, Miss Etta Skipper of Lancaster, Department president, and Mrs Claus Buseh of Aiken, committeewoman of district. No. 2, were honored guests. After the meeting, Miss Skipper and Mrs. Busch were guests of the executive board for luncheon at the Saluda hotel.
Miss Marie Ensrud and mother of Fort Meade, Md., were weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. G E Stone.
Mr. and Mrs. H G Holland and daughter of Columbia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. S J Wertz.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Duffy and son Hoyt Fred of Niles, California, are on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. B T Duffie.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Dukes and Edd Good, Jr., of Augusta or the weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Merchant.
Misses Margaret Chadwick and Anice Forrest who have been teaching in Gaffney, are home.
Miss Bessie Edwards of Charlotte is visiting Mrs.W. C. Edwards.
Dr. and MRs. T. M. Matthews, Candler Matthews, Mrs. J. W. Etheredge and Miss Eva Sue Etheredge have returned from Winthrop college where they attended the closing exercises, Miss Ruth Maelia Matthew, Isabelle Etheredge, Grace Coleman and Jemmie Margaret Forrest were among those receiving diplomas there.
Mrs. C. C. Evans of Spartanburg recently visited her mother, Mrs. J. P. Long.
Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Payne and Mrs. Jack Payne of Pelham, Georgia, are on a visit to relatives here.
Miss Mary Louise Chadwick of Columbia is on a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Chadwick.
M. Earle Stone of Hartsville was here for the weekend.
