20 Years Ago Today Items of Interest From The State of 1914.

Carolina’s basketball team leaves next week for a road trip of five games, playing Wake Forest January 13. A and M at Raleigh the 14th, Trinity at Durham the 15th. Washington and Lee at Lexington the 16th; and V. M. L. at Lexington the 17th.

John V. Free is made agent for the Seaboard Air Line railway at Blaney.

The Metropolitan club hold its annual dinner and presents loving cup to A. M. Meetze, the retiring president.

Columbia Chair company is commissioned with a capital stock of $50,000. It will engage in the general manufacturer of furniture and also has the right to act as selling agents.

The Hope-Davis company is commissioned to do a general mercantile business. Capital stock is $8,000 and petitioners are J. J. Hope and Frank G. Davis.
