Three Affairs at Saluda Enjoyed

SALUDA, Sept. 5 – Mrs. J. B. Feagle was hostess to the bridge club on Friday afternoon. Baskets of handsome dahlias were used to brighten the room where two tables were arranged for the players. High score prize was awarded to Mrs. W. B. McCarty while Mrs. W. A. Crouch cut consolation. A sweet course was served.

Miss T. L. Edwards entertained with two tables of rook at her home on Wednesday afternoon. Beautiful dahlias and gorgeous zinnias were used to make the rooms more attractive. Hostess served ice cream and cake.

The T. E. L. Class of the Baptist Church was entertained at the home of Mrs. H. S. Farley on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. L. G. Pageant and Mrs. Cleo Bacon assisted her in entertaining the rooms were thrown en suite and were artistically decorated for the occasion. After the business session all enjoyed a number of games and contest on the lawn. Punch and cake were served.

Mrs. B. G. Butler, Mrs. Esther Butler and Francis Butler and Herbert Butler of Meggetts are guest of Reverend and Mrs. E. L. Joyner.

Mrs. Theodore Marsh and little son of Knoxville are on a visit to relatives here.

Miss Essie Mae Fox of Edgefield was a recent guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J L Edwards.

Mrs. J D Waters and daughters have returned from a visit to friends here in Greenville.

Miss Genevieve Grigsby has returned from a visit to relatives in Blaney.

James H. Pitts who has been on a visit to relatives here left a few days ago for his home in Sarasota, Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Horde of Crescent City, Florida, are guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. E. Addy and Judge and Mrs. C. J. Ramage.

Professor and Mrs. William Hicks of Raleigh, North Carolina, have returned to their home after spending some time in the home of Mrs. J. W. Pitts.

Mrs. Ida Crouch has returned to Saluda after an extended visit to relatives in Columbia, Hartsville and Georgetown.

Misses. Earnestine Ziegler and Virginia Ziegler of Columbia were recent visitors here.

Mr. and Mrs. M. M. McCord and Georgetown are on a visit to relatives in Saluda.

The Reverend and Mrs. G. E. Bailey, Miss Emily Bailey and Edwin Bailey of Charleston were recent visitors here.

Glenn McCarty has entered school in Griffin, Georgia, which is under the supervision of Covington McMillan of this place.
