New Brookland-Cayce School Opens Soon; Faculty Changes

Handsome New Building Will Be Ready For Use by January 1

Public schools of New Brookland and Cayce will open Monday, September 7, G. C. Gaskin, superintendent, announced.

The New Brookland-Cayce high school now being erected between New Brookland and Cayce by W. A. Crary and Son, at a cost of approximately $85,000, is expected to be opened during the last of December or the first of January, according to information received from the contractor today.

Pre-school pupils who have not enrolled before will enroll at the grammar school buildings between 9 and 12 o’clock Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, September 1 and 2.

Other pupils will report for work September 7. Book lists will be available at the various schools for a week before school begins.

High School pupils, who have credits or conditions to work off, should arrange them at the office of the principal at New Brookland, September 1 and 2.

The first teacher’s meeting for the New Brookland high school will be held at 10 o’clock Thursday morning, September 3.
