Ridgeway, Oct 8. – Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hartin and Edwin Hartin visited Miss Mary Evelyn Hartin of Coker college Sunday.

John DuBose of New Patz., N. Y., is visiting his sister, Mrs. W. R. Goodson.

Misses Susie Shannon of Parr, Blanche Wyndham of Georgetown and Jean Starnes of Ridgeway, teachers in the Blaney graded school, spent the week with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Starnes.

Miss Helen Simmons of Chester visited Miss Evelyn Franklin during the past week.

Miss Jane C. Thomas is spending the week in Savannah.

Mrs. Albert Bishop has returned to her home in Philadelphia after a visit of several weeks to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. DesPortes.

Miss Susie Palmer is visiting friends in Charleston.

Mrs. W. H. Ruff is spending this week with her daughter, Mrs. Hamond Salley at Salley.

The women of the Presbyterian church held a rummage sale at the town hall Saturday. Cakes, candies, etc., were sold and a net sum realized.

Mrs. W. S. DesPortes entertained the Bridge club Thursday afternoon. A colorful setting was given the rooms by the use of bowls of cosmos, lovely fall roses and dahlias. Following the games delightful refreshments were served on attractive covers of linen.

Mrs. J. N. Lemaster attended the Third district meeting of the woman’s auxiliary at York Thursday.

George Palmer came up from the University of South Carolina for the weekend with his parents.

A number from here attended “Kid Boots” at the Columbia theater this week.

Col. and Mrs. H. C. Davis of Columbia visited relatives here this week.
