BLANEY, S. C., Oct 1 – A moonlight picnic was given last Friday evening at Crystal Lake in honor of the new members of the school faculty by the teachers who were here last year.
Little Martha Roberts and brother Redmond Roberts of Taylors have been the guests of their grandmother, Mrs. C. S. Andrea.
Mrs. Denver W. Traxler and daughter, Margie Traxler are the guests this week of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. F. McKewn of Branchville.
The Fairfield Baptist association will meet here on next Wednesday and Thursday in the Union Baptist Church.
Miss May Price of Blythewood has been the guest this week of her cousin, Miss Adabel Price.
The teachers who are members of the School Improvement association have recently raised $60 and placed magazines and papers in the local reading room in the high school building.
The following students from Blaney have left for college during September: Chicora, Miss Nelle Evans; Greenville Woman’s college, Miss Beatrice Ross; Medical college at Charleston, Harry Ross; University of South Carolina, Jack Ross, Norman Rose and Misses Florrie Mae Ross, Clara Motley and Elise Ross.
