Blaney School Will Open Soon

BLANEY, S. C., September 10, – The Blaney school will open on Thursday morning, September 15 at 9 o’clock with the registration and classification of pupils. The enrollment is expected to be more than 300.

The formal opening exercises will be held on Tuesday evening, September 20, at 7:30 o’clock with a reception for the new teachers in the school lobby under the direction of the School Improvement Association and an address by State Superintendent J. H. Hope of Columbia to the pupils and the patrons in the school auditorium.

The following teachers will be in the school for the 1927-28 term: In the high school, Leonardo Andrea will be superintendent and teach history; Miss Eulalie Sheely will be principal and teach Latin and English; Miss Virginia Doar will teach English in French; Miss Myrtle Laird will teach mathematics; Denver W. Traxler will teach science and agriculture.

In the grammar school Miss Connie Andrea will be principal and teacher history and supervise the artwork; Miss Susie Shannon will teach English and supervise the music; Miss Blanche Wyndham will teach spelling and supervise penmanship; Miss Myra Pettigru will teach reading in third grade; Mrs. Mary Simpson will teach second grade and Miss Jean Starnes will teach first grade.

Many improvements have been added to the building and the best session for many years is looked forward to.
