Blaney, June 12. – School closed Monday night with the graduating address by Dr. J. C. Guilds of Columbia college to a class of 11.

The teacher left Tuesday for the following places; Miss Clara Childress for her home at Taylors and will leave there Saturday for Johns Hopkins university at Baltimore, where she will pursue a course in dietetics. Miss Arabel Kennedy is spending the summer at her country home near Lugoff. Miss Eulalie Sheeley is at Ballentine until she enters the University of South Carolina for the summer. Miss Maude Derrick will spend the summer at Leesville. Misses Connie Andrea and Willie May Andrea are visiting in Brunswick, Ga., and Tampa, Fla., until they enter summer school at Winthrop. Miss Pearl Sanders is at Pontiac until she enters summer school at Winthrop. Mrs. Mary Simpson will be in Blaney until she enters the University of South Carolina next week. Miss Myra Pettigrew leaves this week for Peabody at Nashville, Tenn., where she will be for 12 weeks. Miss Fay Bridges will spend the summer in Cowpens. Supt. Leonardo Andrea will spend a vacation on St. Simons Island, Georgia, and then return to take charge of one of the vocational schools to be run this summer by the department of vocational agriculture.

The Rev. Davis Harrelson and Mrs. Harrelson had as their guest this week their son, Dwight N. Harrelson of Atlanta, their cousin, John Pickens Derham of the state tax commission of Columbia, and Dr. Rufus Ford of Marion.

Misses Beatrice Ross and Charlotte Ross have as their guest Miss Martha Ray Shiver of Rock Hill and Miss Hattie Shull of Lexington.

Mrs. E. H. Ross and children of New Brookland are spending some time in Blaney as guest of relatives.

Miss Eda Faye Kelly and her mother, Mrs. W. D. Kelley, of Columbia spent the weekend here as the guests of relatives.

Miss Ruby Kelly of Columbia is the guest of Miss Lillie Belle Evans.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Evans had as their guest for the commencement season, Mrs. D. G. Sutton and son, Jesse, and Mrs. B. D. Cain and sons, William and B. D., Jr. of Columbia and Miss Cora Alice Harmon of Lykesland.

Mrs. Clelstine S. Andrea is spending some time with her sister, Mrs. S. P. Rabon, at Clearwater, Fla.

Mrs. S. C. Starnes and children of Ridgeway were the guest of the weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Bowen.

Miss Lilla Wood, a student at the State College for Women at Milledgeville, Ga., is a the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Wood.

Mrs. Marietta Evans is the guest of relatives in Savannah, Ga., this week.

Little Morris McCombs is the guest this week of Hubert Harrelson of St. Augustine, Fla.
