Blaney, May 14, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Simpson (Mrs. Mary Morrison Simpson), Thursday evening entertained 40 friends in honor of the school faculty with a fish fry at their county home about five miles from town. The guest went in cars to the Simpson home, where the delightful fish dinner was served under the spreading tree and in the light of the full moon.

Mr. and Mrs. John Motley entertained with a party Saturday night for their guest for the weekend. Dan Motley and Misses Sue and Mary Motley and Myrtle Meetze of New Brooklyn.

Gordon Moore, Jack Ross and Norman Ross represented the high school at the banquet in Camden Monday night given by the Young Men’s Business league for the high schools of Kershaw county.

Little Blondelle Arrants has returned from a fortnight’s visit to Indianapolis, Indiana, Washington, D. C., and Richmond, Virginia.

Mrs. J. F. Eddleman and Mrs. T. B. Kelley of Columbia spent the past weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dolphus Rose (Mrs. Roxie Christmas Rose)

Mrs. Frank Jones and two children from Gresham is spending the week with her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Davis Harrelson.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis Ross have returned to Columbia after a visit to their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rose, and Mrs. and Mrs. J. T. Ross.

Tuesday the spelling preliminaries were held in the school auditorium and Mildred Evans will represent the high school and Vearl Price the grammar school in the county contest Saturday at Camden.

Mrs. L. E. Wood has returned from a visit to relatives in Newman, Ga.

Next Tuesday evening, May 17, the senior class will present “The Eyes of Love” in the school Auditorium at 8:30 o’clock, as its annual play. Their receipts will go to the class funds with which to purchase a class gift for the school.
