Commencement Exercises Held At Blaney School

Blaney, June 8, – Commencement exercises of the Blaney high school ended Friday night. Before a crowd that filled the high school auditorium the class exercised were rendered, as follows; Statistic of the class, Lewis Dinkins; class will, Mae Mottley; prophecy, Ermine Maddox; valedictory, Thelma Ross. After the class exercises a very interesting and inspiring address was delivered to the graduates by Dr. H W Barron of Columbia. The diplomas were delivered by Alan B Murchinson of Camden.

Thursday night a play, “Deacon Dubba,” was presented by members of the high school. The same night a program was rendered by the grammar grades.

Sunday night the baccalaureate sermon was delivered by the Rev. J D Harrelson and the Blaney Baptist Church.

The school for the past year was under the supervision of J Harold Shealy of Ballentine.
