Ballentine Takes Another Game

Ballentine defeated Blaney’s team in a good game of baseball on the Blaney diamond Saturday afternoon, 5 to 3.

B. Meetze pitched well for the visitors. In the fifth inning with the bases loaded he caused the three succeeding batters to miss the third strike.

The batting honors went to Corley and D. Huffman, Corley getting three hits out of four trips to the plate and D. Huffman connecting safely three times out of five.

Kelly was knocked out of the box in the eight inning and Bass fared little better.

The game was played in one hour and 55 minutes. The batteries for Blaney; Kelley, Bass, and Bass; for Ballentine, Meetze and Lowman, Umpires, Shealey and Hinson.
