Baptist Session Closes At Blaney

Eau Claire Selected for Next Meeting Place.

At the final session of the Fairfield Baptist association yesterday at the Blaney Baptist church, Eau Claire was selected as the meeting place for nex year. The Rev. R. E. Hardaway of Columbia was chosen to make the opening address.

The morning session convened at 10 o’clock. There was a large delegation present.

The first report made was that on benevolence submitted by the Rev. E. M. Nungezer of Columbia. After the discussion of the Rev. W. M. Whiteside, superintendent of the Baptist Hospital, made his report and an address concerning the activities of the denomination institution.

What is said to have been the most encouraging report on missions in the history of the association was next made by the Rev. J. P. Isenhower of Winnsboro. The report was followed by an address on missions by the Rev. W. T. Derieux of the Baptist general board.

The report on education was made by the Rev. R. E. Hardaway of Columbia. Dr. W. J. McGlothlin, president of Furman university, also made an address on the subject.

The afternoon session began with a report on stewardship and tithing by the Rev. E. M. Lightfoot of Columbia and was followed by an address by the Rev. E. G. Epps of Fort Mill. The report on Sunday schools and B. Y. P. U. work was next made by the Rev. J. B. Shivar of Blaney. The Rev. J. L. Baggott of the Baptist general board also made an address on the union work.
