Fire At Blaney

Three Stores Are Destroyed by the Flames.

Special to The State.

Blaney, March 6. – Fire occurred here today about 12:30 o’clock and destroyed a row of three stores belonging to L. J. Sharpe, G. W. Glover and T. W. Watson. It is thought that the fire started from a defective flue in Mr. Sharpe’s store and, there being a high wind blowing, the flames were driven from one store to another.

If it had not been for the hard work of the citizens of the town the Seaboard Air Line’s new depot and many dwellings would probably have been burned. The total loss was $5,000 with no insurance. Mr. Watson’s loss was $3,500.
