A Valentine Party

Special to The State.

Spartanburg, Feb. 20. – Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Sweeny of Fairmount entertained at a Valentine party in honor of Miss Octavia Hellmans of Laurens and Miss Zoe Bailey of Blaney. The unique feature of the evening was the large proposal hart where each young man selected his partner for the evening by proposing to the hand he admired most from a number of hands that were trust through the heart.

Quite a number of interesting games were played, Miss Epps of Reidville winning the prize of the evening, which was a large heart-shaped box of candy.

Mrs. O. M. Bowden assisted the hostess in serving.

As the guest left they called at the beautifully arranged lattice work postoffice for their mail and were presented with lovely little Valentines as souvenirs of the occasion. Amoung those present were: Misses Hellams, Bailey, Means, Epps, Henis, Bowen; Ed Crowe, Prof. Miller, Dr. W. P. Coan, Means, Kilgore of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Bowden.
